  1. Thing is, even if Jeremy does end up with a kid exactly like himself, Jeremy won’t remember what he was like when he was a teenager, so the irony will be lost on him. By the time people hit Walt and Connie’s age, they’ve forgotten what they were like, or if they remember at all, it’s in a very idealized way. I’m sure neither Walt nor Connie has any memory at all of giving their parents the kind of aggravation Jeremy gives them, though they doubtless did.

    Sort of like a CALVIN AND HOBBES strip that had Calvin’s mom, whom Calvin was driving crazy, telling him that she hoped he had a kid someday who was just like him. Calvin tells her, “That’s what grandma says she used to tell you.”
