      • No doubt true, but if he’s driving it nowadays, he’s required by law to have seatbelts installed. You don’t need anything more than a lapbelt, but you still have to have some restraint even if it’s a classic car.

        • Actually in a lot of states the seatbelt laws clarify they are only enforceable towards cars with seat belts installed. Classic cars that came without seat belts do not require aftermarket installation to be in compliance with most laws. That being said, the insurance rates for a road-worthy car that lacks seat belts is much higher than one with seat belts, so you think it would be worth the money (the paren’s money as I expect they pay his insurance) to have them installed.
